Fightin' Texas Aggies in the USFL
#12 Jace Sternberger - TE - Birmingham Stallions
Age: 26 - Height: 6’4 - Weight: 251 - TAMU 2018 - 3 star recruit
Well, folks, gather 'round, and let me tell y'all about a young man named Jace Sternberger. Jace is playin' for the Birmingham Stallions of the United States Football League. Now, this fella played his college ball at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, Kansas, and Texas A&M. It was at Texas A&M that he earned himself the title of consensus All-American in 2018. Mighty impressive, ain't it?
Jace's journey started at Kingfisher High School in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. He played a little bit of everything, from quarterback to tight end, and even made a splash in basketball as a power forward. After high school, he went on to play at Kansas, where he redshirted his first year and didn't see much action the next.
Wantin' to showcase his skills, Jace transferred to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, where he caught the eyes of schools like Boise State and Florida State. But it was Texas A&M, with their tight end-heavy offense, that won him over. In 2018, Jace became a consensus All-American and matched the school record for most touchdowns by a tight end. That's somethin' to write home about!
In 2019, the Green Bay Packers drafted Jace in the third round. He had some ups and downs there, includin' a trip to injured reserve and a suspension. After his time in Green Bay, Jace found himself with the Seattle Seahawks, Washington Football Team, and Pittsburgh Steelers, all in the span of a year or two. He even had a workout with the Cleveland Browns.
Now, Jace has landed with the Birmingham Stallions, ready to show the USFL what he's made of. That, my friends, is the story of Jace Sternberger, a talented tight end with a journey as winding as a Texas backroad.
